Aesthetic restorations

Aesthetic restorations (artistic restorations). What is it?

Artistic dental restoration is a way to reliably and functionally restore lost tooth tissue. 4-6 teeth can be restored in a single visit to the doctor. So after the first visit, you'll be delighted with the amazing results - your smile will be just as you dreamed it would be!

In aesthetic restorations, the lost tooth tissue is restored so that its shape, colour, clarity and surface microstructure resemble the appearance of the natural tooth, even under different lighting conditions. We work with the highest quality certified filling materials, which have physical properties - strength, adhesion to the tooth, abrasion, etc. - comparable to those of natural tooth tissue, and a wide selection of shades allows us to restore the individual beauty of your tooth.

After the anaesthetic, the procedure will not cause any discomfort. It uses a gentle preparation technique: damaged and demineralised tooth tissue is removed and the teeth are not polished, so their vitality is preserved and, if necessary, they can be easily corrected.

To ensure the longevity and quality of the restoration, aesthetic restorations are made with a moisture-resistant rubber - a cofferdam - which protects the working area of the tooth being treated from saliva, gingival secretions, vapours from breathing etc.

Thanks to all this and, most importantly, the professional excellence of the doctors, you will smile the smile of your dreams!

When are cosmetic fillings recommended?

An aesthetic filling is performed when teeth are damaged by decay, discoloured, worn down, to fill gaps between teeth, or when the position of a tooth is uneven. All of these can be corrected with an aesthetic filling.

 Aesthetic fillings cannot be performedwhen:

  • the lesion is deep under the gums,
  • damaged tooth root,
  • almost no crown tissue remains.

In such cases, we offer aesthetic prosthetics.

How long does the procedure take?

The length of the procedure depends on the number of teeth to be restored, the complexity of the work and the complexity of the procedure. If 4-6 teeth are being restored, the procedure may take 5-7 hours. But don't be scared - the procedure will not take too long, and you can enjoy your favourite films in the dentist's chair with the help of video glasses.

After the restoration of the anterior teeth, a follow-up examination after 2-4 weeks is necessary. During this check-up, the dentist assesses the results of the aesthetic restoration: colour, adhesion of the restoration material, mucosal condition, etc. During the check-up, the dentist may also suggest a correction based on your observations.

How you may feel after aesthetic restorations procedures?

After an aesthetic filling procedure, you may feel unusual for a while. Some sounds may be unclear after the procedure (especially if gaps have been closed, teeth have been straightened or other complex restorations have been carried out).

The colour of filled teeth can be uneven: during the filling process, the teeth are insulated with a moisture-proof rubber (cofferdam), which dries them out during the work and can cause a noticeable difference in colour. However, within a few days, the teeth regain moisture and the colour recovers.

Aesthetic fillings can cause sore gums, redness, slight bleeding when brushing, and increased sensitivity of the teeth. The adaptation period lasts up to two weeks, in some cases longer.

On the day of the filling, it is not recommended to consume staining foods (red wine, blueberries, beetroot, etc.).

Like maintaining aesthetically pleasing filled teeth?

After the aesthetic filling, it is recommended to take care of your teeth as usual: brushing twice, morning and night, with a brush and toothpaste, and flossing your gums with a hygienic floss. It is not advisable to use a stiff toothbrush and toothpastes containing stronger abrasives (i.e. whitening or micro-beads) after this procedure, as this breaks down the polished surface of the sealed tooth more quickly and does not leave any shine. We recommend professional oral hygiene every six months, as well as aesthetic polishing (i.e. refreshing the surface gloss) of aesthetically sealed teeth.

Longevity of restoration

Any restoration method chosen has a lifetime. Aesthetic restorations can last 8-10 years and more. However, the longevity of a restoration also depends on the person's own efforts - proper dental care. It is essential semi-annually professional oral hygiene and polishing of restored teeth.

Good individual oral hygiene, correct brushing with toothpaste and a toothbrush, and flossing will also ensure the longevity of the restoration.
